This blog is about some of the places I’ve visited. It’s idiosyncratic: a grab-bag of different destinations and experiences that came along my life path. The places that struck me most deeply may not be here: sometimes, words simply can’t do justice to something astounding or life-changing … Or maybe it’s me, the words that I try to string together just don’t seem right. There’s a bias in this blog towards arts, history, and culture (and possibly food), simply because those are my interests. The blog is also my way of expressing my gratitude to the world for ‘hosting’ me, for giving me some amazing experiences. The world is truly bigger than we know, and we are poorer in spirit if we don’t see this and instead choose to see the world and its many different cultures only through a limited perspective. They say that travel broadens the mind, yet I know many people who’ve travelled whose minds and hearts remain closed, usually because they fear change and challenges. It’s very human to fall back into habits and old ways of thinking. I believe that traveling with a generosity of spirit allows us to develop awareness of old habits and gain a new perspective on our everyday surroundings and the place where we live. I’ve been fortunate to have seen many places I dreamt of seeing, and God willing, I’ll have the chance to see more!
